Haven't seen much of this with everything else that has been on so I'm catching up.
I'm trying to remember the rules cos I haven't played or even seen it since school! I used to play Centre cos, although I've never been tall, I was nippy and could turn on a sixpence.
The one-step rule is that when you catch the ball you can only take one more step, is that right?

I watched about 10 mins of it last night. I think it’s the case that you can move one leg but you can’t move “off” it, if that makes sense.
What I noticed was how much passing of the ball from one to another there was at knee height......I don’t remember that being a thing, although it’s a good way of avoiding an interception. I thought every pass was at chest or shoulder height. Like you, I was short and nippy and much preferred gym and netball to hockey (sadists) or any form of athletics where height and strength were key. My favourite bit of PE was lying around on the grass between “go’s”...

I think what is knee height for them was chest height for us at that age. I expect it makes it harder to intercept the ball.

I loved netball when I was at school. I was on the School team, although I was only Wing Defence (but someone had to do it!) I too was quite nippy although I didn't (don't) have the height to be very effective, but I was quite good at intercepting a pass.
When I joined the civil service, I also joined the local CS netball team, but I was pretty rubbish compared to the rest (and by then I'd taken up smoking) so I used to get quite knackered!

I don't think they do ... they tend to go for basketball!

I'm enoying it a lot more than I thought I would, having not watched it for years. Forgotten how physical it gets. In 6 games, I've seen one busted nose, one black eye and one split lip. Not all on the same player, I hasten to add!
Also seen some amazing play! Beautiful cross court passes.

In my primary school, we had mixed netball. I, being totally clumsy, hated it and basically just stood as far away from things as I could without getting the teacher too annoyed. Later, I discovered that a big part of the problem was that I needed glasses but, by the time I got them, it was too late.

You can now include a popped knee and a knackered shoulder!

My favourite fans so far are the Zims. Amazing singing!

T+T are a bit rough! But the hang time of their centre is amazing.

I laughed at an interview where the journo said "Of course this is a non-contact sport isn't, which is why it was popular for girls at school" and the player said "Who told you that, have you watched it, there's nothing in the rules about no contact" and laughed. Don't know who he was, I was in a friends car and don't even know what radio station she had on but he was clearly being snidey and she was clearly laughing with a bit of a threat in her voice. You go girl!

Fair play to her! The only time there is no contact is on the person who has the ball. Everyone else is fair game! Obviously kicking and punching and pulling of hair is not allowed but the good old-fashioned hip check is much applauded.
