ITV’s new drama series Deep Water will premiere on Wednesday August 14th at 9pm.
Deep Water is set against the backdrop of the Lake District and follows the lives of three complex and vibrant women, each struggling to keep their heads above very deep water.
Like all of us, they seek to do their best for their families, but face tough choices with difficult, and often messy repercussions.
The women are connected by the school gates, each with children around the same age.
The six episode drama series, which is based on the Paula Daly novels, stars Anna Friel (Marcella), Sinead Keenan (Little Boy Blue) and Rosalind Eleazar (Rellik).

Reading the TV Guide today, I think this is based on two books by Paula Daly, Just What Kind of Mother Are You? and The Mistake I Made. I have read the former and enjoyed it so I shall give this a go (and save the cost of buying the second book)

Looking forward to this. It sounds good so I'm hoping it isn't a disappointment.

Midsummer drama, always makes me think if this was any good,it would be on when lots are not on hols to get the viewing figures up.
And Anna Friel can get annoying, bet she plays the earnest one.
So think l will pass, and watch the real crime investigation on BBC2.
Tomorrow, l expect to be told this is brilliant and must see drama, sods law and all that.

Hmm. Another drama full of people I don’t much like. Let’s hope it works out better than Keeping Faith.

I think it's OK. I'm not excited enough to binge the whole lot on ITV player but have some interest in what happens, so will keep on with it "linearly".

I quite enjoyed it. I don't know the blonde woman's story at all and am reasonably interested to see how they do the story I have read. I agree it doesn't make you want to binge the box set.

I enjoyed it enough to watch again next week...but I wouldn't binge watch it.

Not one to rave over but I'll keep watching. I'm hoping now the scene and the characters are set the pace will pick up next week. I do agree about the unlikeable characters though.... I didn't warm to any of them.

We began to watch, had our doubts after fifteen minutes, and switched off after the oddly unrealistic encounter in the bathroom.

I've decided it's not for me after watching one and a half episodes.

I didn't bother! I love the Lake District but suspected it might not be worth it, from the Front Row review the previous week. Anna Friel either has very poor taste or is badly edited. Marcella was dreadful, IMO, though she was good in Broken (the Sean Bean series where he was cast against type as a priest).
