Two weeks in and I still don’t like any of the characters. Or the storylines. That is how I felt and why I baled out. Let's face it: if you don't like the story (which I found distasteful to be honest) or the characters (ditto!) a programme doesn't have a lot going for it because there isn't really anything else left is there? Oh, I DID like the scenery but then, it's the Lake District.....

I watched the first episode and ten minutes of the second...then that was me gone!

I'm still watching, and for me it's actually getting better. I'm liking it more each week as the three main women's situations progress. Just the finale left now, which I'm quite looking forward to.

I watched through to the end on ITV Player last night and on the whole have quite enjoyed it. As you say, it got better as it went on. But - and I thought this a couple of weeks ago and again in episode 5 - having read the book on which the Lisa/ Kate story is based, it seems to me as if they have changed the plot quite considerably as it relates to Guy. Unless I am misremembering, which is quite possible if not probable!
This is the first drama they have put up in toto before airing.

An interesting unfurling of events around the women, their actions and relationship spin off -especially touching their younger children who have no idea of the reasons for their changing lives. Sometimes it is not easy to stay with a series if the introduction into it does not make immediate impact. I found this one has been worth sticking to and thinking about afterwards. ...with sadness.

I watched the finale on the ITV player in advance of last night's episode., and thought the whole thing was pretty good in the end. I'm not familiar with the book so not aware of any plot changes around Guy.
I have to say the ITV player is pants! - and even worse than the All4 player. It had no subtitles available when viewed via my Amazon Fire TV stick, and it doesn't tell you how long the advert breaks are going to be. At least with All4, if you briefly pause it when an ad break starts, it tells you to the nearest second how long this one is, so you can go and do something else and return in time to not miss any of the resuming programme.

Yes, it bugs me too that there are no subtitles on that hub. I can't always find them on the C4 one either. Now that it has aired, I can say that as I remember it, the book had Kate acting that way for the reason the spoiler (used in case anyone feels like reading the book). But that is a pretty big change so I must have got that wrong. {SPOILER:Click to Show}Kate removed the daughter from the home to a rental cottage to get her away from Guy who was an abusive father.
