NBC must have switched gears and be trying to win the schmaltz demographic.
I haven't watched new episodes of SVU in a few years but I saw an advert for an upcoming episode and Olivia Benson (who apparently is the boss cop now) is shown squaring her jaw, throwing back her shoulders and saying the equivalent of "lets go get em" as she storms out of her office, as if she were a marshal in a 1950s TV western leading a posse after the black hatted bad guys.
