In 1989, the Ebola virus appears in chimpanzees in a research lab in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and there is no known cure; a U.S. Army scientist puts her life on the line to head off an outbreak before it spreads to the human population.
Started last night on National Geographic with Julianna Margulies as the main character. A good watch, it has me hooked.

Another thing to add to my list of things to watch. It will be interesting to watch given the recent news that they might have found a cure for Ebola, allowing up to 94 percent of those treated to recover.

Oh I hope that's true! It's devastated a lot of towns and villages.

There is a report in the British Medical Journal which confirmed this for the early stages of Ebola, with tests being on going for its treatment in the later stages.

I sometimes like these kinds of story, either because they go completely over the top, as in The Walking Dead or Resident Evil, or they take it seriously. I don't like how this started with the dramatic assertion that the story is based on truth, followed by the name of the National Geographic, seemingly trying to give it a credibility and dramatic effect that it doesn't need. It just seems run-of-the-mill of its type, watchable, but nothing special.

Sorry, by episode 3 it is really becoming utterly stupid. {SPOILER:Click to Show} They try to take a suspected case of Ebola to a secure unit, but somebody from CDC overrules them and takes the case to a normal hospital which cannot deal with any threat. That is absolutely not how CDC would work. It is only how a government flunky might work to save his job from a news scare.
