This was the first thing that got me into old time radio. It was a series of half hour science fiction stories from the 1940s on. They were broadcast over three years from 1955, and I would just listen to them, at first on cds that I was able to buy on Ebay, and now on the Internet Archive which has enabled me to perhaps complete my collection.
Do not expect anything that sounds new, but there were a few real gems. This will give you an idea of the spirit of them:
