Just had a lot of trouble with an Aldi fake voucher scam. It appeared on my iPad and would not go away.
It was one of these...fill the questions and get free vouchers one. I think it needs your personal details which needless to say it didn't get. I do not know where it came from, but I notice on my iPad the site is not secure.
Just thought I would warn people as I don't expect I am the only one to get this.

As Geoff said, it's an attack on the all the Proboards forums. They are aware of it so we just have to wait for it to be dealt with.

Thank you, I was beginning to think I had clicked on something I shouldn't have.

It's one of the reasons that I don't like these "clever" ads that you get on the Internet. They always have the potential to cause trouble.

I had that one all day yesterday, couldn’t even scroll down a thread without it popping up, so was unable to do anything about it. It appears to have gone today.

Glad it wasn't just me - I was getting a bit irate with the continual redirection - I suppose its like the street sellers you keep trying to walk around. thankfully its gone now.

The ad has now been blocked and there are systems in place to try and stop it happening again.
As a side-note the fact that this site is not secure is not an issue, no sensitive information, bank details, payment cards etc are ever posted on this site, but in time it will become https with a padlock but that will not stop rogue ads.
All that can be done is to report them, using the 'report ad' function at the bottom of the page if it is visible.
Or start a thread on the support page.
It is also worth remembering that using an ad-blocker however tempting, is against the terms of service you agree to when registering an account and if you have that installed ,this site being funded by ads,not by users,it should be whitelisted or disabled completely when viewing this site.
You can buy personal ad-free for $2.99 per month,or the site can buy ad-free for a bit more, but that would mean having a monetary contribution from all.
