I'm not surprised to be honest. Didn't they put it on a channel hardly anyone watches?

ITV Encore, which to my tiny mind, means repeats!! But apparently, now they're going in the newly commissioned direction.

I enjoyed it, and I think its cancellation is a pity.
In many ways it was the complete opposite of the BBC's 'The Living and the Dead' - the historical accuracy of the Houdini-Doyle pairing and the Edwardian period detail in general was highly suspect, it was not serious, and the influence of the supernatural in each episode turned out to be pretty minimal.
But I found it very entertaining - and the casting of Stephen Mangan, Michael Weston and Rebecca Liddiard in the leads was inspired, as they interplayed beautifully.
