Stars Steve Buscemi as a dishevelled God, and Daniel Radcliffe who works in the hopelessly overloaded Prayer Answering department of Heaven Inc. Showing Monday 27 Jan, 9.00pm on the new Sky Comedy channel which is shortly to replace the Universal channel.
This was originally aired a year ago on the TBS channel in the US, and as far as I know has so far only been available in the UK as a purchase through Amazon Prime.
Sky Comedy have also acquired the second season - with the same characters, but who are this time apparently undercover in the Dark Ages - which starts on TBS next week.

You know I don't think I have seen a single film or tv show with Steve Buscemi that I didn't like.
I don't know if he just chooses his projects that closely or if there is just something about him as an actor. But he always seems to be in good stuff.

I think Steve Buscemi is a great actor. My favourite series of his was Boardwalk Empire.
I read that Owen Wilson was originally cast as God in Miracle Workers, but he dropped out and Steve stepped in.

LOVED Boardwalk Empire.
They made Al Capone out to be a bit of a wild acting buffoon. He was much more intelligent and more savvy of a leader than portrayed. That was my only real gripe with the series.
Chalky White was my favorite character besides Nucky Thompson. Brilliant. It did seem out of character that though that he would basically sacrifice himself for the jazz singer woman.
The WWI veteran sniper with the mask was another favorite. Whoever designed the mask deserves credit for him being able to portray so much silent emotion. Like the Phantom of the Opera.

I just caught up with Season 1 and really enjoyed it. A very appealing ensemble cast.
I’ve heard bad things about Season 2, so that will get shuffled down the list for the moment. Has anyone watched it?

S2 is definitely not as good as S1 imo - less original and less funny.
I thought it was going to be the same characters - God and various minions sent to medieval England for some undercover purpose - but this isn't the case. It's nothing to do with S1 except it has the same cast, who are playing completely different, human, characters (and the same time slot - Sky Comedy, Mondays at 9.00pm).

Yeah that is kind of a thing in US television the last few years. Series using the same actors year after year but playing completely different characters in different plots, settings, time frames.
I think it started with "American Horror Story."
