Has anyone else tried this? Basic premise:
The family (widow, three kids) of a murdered man move to his ancestral family mansion in a small town. The children - 16yo girl and boys of 17 and (about) 11 - are dealing with teenage angsts, but also discovering “Key House” has disturbing secrets. Namely, hidden keys that have magical or paranormal powers. Meanwhile, their mother is finding out her husband also had secrets in his past... it’s another one based on a graphic novel.
I’m three episodes in and wondering if I want to stick with it. I quite like the premise, but it feels like the target audience is probably somewhere in the teens. It didn’t help that the first key is one that will open a door to anywhere you want to go - which is used effectively here, but also reminded me of The Lost Room (one of my favourite miniseries ever).

I did think about it but the trailer put me off a bit. I don't mind stuff aimed at teenagers as long as it's well-written and well-acted.

They do make it all deathly serious. There’s none of the wit or style of something like Buffy or Umbrella Academy. But it does have some imaginative ideas that will hopefully sustain it at least through one season.

8 episodes in and loving it - a magical adventure with fine acting and great story......plus an amazing American accent from Aled Jones daughter.

I really enjoyed it until about halfway through when it began to drag a little. Then it picked up pace again and was really good until the very end. I guess because of my age I knew the twist but I suppose if you're a teenager you wouldn't have seen it before and need the twenty minutes of exposition at the end.
