Monday (27th) to Friday (1st) at 9pm.
The five Chasers unite to take on an individual contestant in a bid to win big money. Will someone succeed? Hosted (naturally) by Bradley Walsh. I will be watching.

Is it five chasers versus one contestant that seems a bit unfair? I assumed it was going to be the itv version of eggheads. Maybe I didn’t listen to the trailers properly. Im glad Bradley is hosting it. For me eggheads was always ruined by the presenters. I gave up watching it a couple of years back. Is it still being made?

I haven't a clue. Didn't watch Eggheads very often. Wasn't that contestant lucky, to win £25,000. Ended on a cliffhanger, will Sally win £75,000? She was a winner in the first series of The Chase, apparently. The Chasers seem more relaxed in this, maybe it's because they are all together. I'm looking forward to the rest of the week.

This has really got going now ,nice mixture of contestants who often surprise.
And a £50,000 winner.
When they will get to make some more is anyones guess, but it is a good formula.
Whoever got the idea for The Chase,is a very clever person, stuck to basics, simple ideas always the best.

I'm enjoying this.Makes a change from The Chase itself, and the contestants seem more relaxed..

Are all of the audience made up of people who applied for the show anyway. I like the format but it must take some guts to get up there.

....the chasers seem to be very generous with their chases....or over confident.....the contestant who won the 50K didn't answer that many questions correctly..

Our only problem is the offers of money, it's so random. On The Chase the money varies but the cash builder tends to be anything from £1000 to £10000 which then means the chasers offer more or less money, also because there's a team the money for the later contestants vary depending on what's in the pot and the variety of knowledge within the group. But on this its one person against them. Last night Joel got £2000 in his cash builder and was offered £50,000 to take on all 5 chasers in 50 seconds (I think it was 50secs), the next contestant, Anna also got £2000 and also got offered £50,000 to take on the 5 chasers but in 39secs! What? If I was Joel I'd be a bit annoyed as they both got the same cash builders. And some top money has been 50,000 but someone else was offered £80,000.

Aren't they working out the odds based on how many questions the contestant got right in the first round e.g. less seconds if you weren't as good.

You'd think that but it seems to be random. Joel and Anna on Tuesday followed each other and both got the same amount of questions right, giving both £2000 to start. But the top prize to take on all 5 chasers was £50,000 but Joel was offered 50secs while Anna was offered 39secs. You've got more chance of winning with 39secs than 50secs.

A colleague at work told me that it is all randomised and the Chasers don't know how much is going to be on offer until it comes up on their screen. She said it was in a paper, but don't quote me on it. Apparently based on the maximum they can give away a programme.

i don't see how they can have a cash limit per programme. If the first three players go for the highest offer and succeed then there will be no money to offer the fourth player!

You are assuming that what you see is what happens.
The contestants you see dont actually flow after each other they are slotted in to fill the hour programme timing, and to have a number of winners or losers,to add variety.
It was probably filmed over a couple of days,if that, to produce 5 hours of programming.
As for the money on offer, there is probably some clever algorithm, so they can work out based on age,how quickly they answered, many things, just to keep it interesting.
And of course the Chasers never decide on what to offer, that is all done behind the scenes.

I think we all probably know that the contestants are fitted in to different episodes, hence why the last contestant won 100k at the end of the last episode and not at the start of say episode 3. Beast replied to a Twitter message saying that they don't make up the amounts of money to offer, they get told by the producers. I suppose it's to stop them tempting some one who they really want to go up against with a silly offer like 1million pounds. I've enjoyed this but I wish they'd stop with all the previous Chase contestants and give someone else a chance.
