I only get to see them on Freeview so have never seen Med, am years behind with Fire and almost current with PD.
Question. Is Trudie the desk sergeant in PD still married to the chap (was he the union rep?) in Fire? The last series of PD I saw didn't mention him at all, although she seemed to have been given a larger role.

Mouch in C.F. is the union man and he is married to a Sgt from the police...I don't watch C PD though, but am pretty sure it's the same person.

Be sure to watch this weeks Chicago’s in order...Fire, Med and PD. Because they follow on from each other and are crossovers. I watched Med first and wondered what the heck was going on.

Haven't seen these but wonder if they are connected to Chicago Hope? That was a series some years ago based in the same hospital as ER, but in the OR rather than the ER. It starred Mandy Patinkin as one of the surgeons who used to sing during procedures. It wasn't as successful as ER (was anything?) and was cancelled after 'only' 6 seasons (ER ran for 15).

Chicago Hope and ER weren't connected. ER was set in the energency departnent of the rougher County General Hospital and was made by NBC. Chicago Hope was set at Chicago Hope Hospital and was made by CBS. They started in the same year, I think in the same week. Chicago Fire hasn't a connection to Chicago Hope. The spin offs of Chicago Fire are Chicago PD (the police one) and Chicago Med, the hospital one.

So, I watched the first episode (the pilot), and realised that I wasn't really watching it. I'll give it a couple more episodes to see if it gets any better.

So, I watched a couple more episodes, and am now beginning to get more into it. There are still little things that irritate me, but it is not as bad as I thought. And, I found Chicago Med.

Those two hospitals were polar opposites! ER being set at "Country General" which was based on the real Cook County Hospital, which is the state run hospital - aka the hospital for the poor. Chicago Hope based more on a hospital like "Northwestern Memorial" which is a top of the line, state-of-the-art research and teaching hospital - aka the hospital for the wealthy or those with the best insurance. Herod's vs. the Pound Shop
