While on the board I'm currently getting frequently re-directed to what looks like a scam, saying that as a carphone warehouse user (which I'm not) my IP address has been selected to win a free prize if I simply answer an anonymous survey (which I won't).
I'm temporarily re-enabling my ad blocker, which seems to stop it.

I'm just getting endless ads for Hotter Shoes! But I will look out for it, thanks for the warning. Actually I thought Carphone Warehouse had gone into administration but a quick check confirms that didn't, they just closed all their standalone stores.

If you get a rogue ad,it needs reporting,using the link at the bottom of the page. Use of an adblocker is against the TOS,so can you whitelist this page as soon as you can. |

Geoffers - I can't report it using the "report ad" link at the bottom, because it isn't an ad within a proboard page, it completely replaces the proboard page I'm trying to look at.
I tried to report it by using the "report ad" link on a different, unaffected, page by copying the full URL into the comments box but it says unable to send my report.
Can I send you or someone else the full offending URL?
**edit - just looked on the proboards tech support board and a number of people are reporting the same thing exactly. It isn't just carphone warehouse, it comes up as Sky or other internet providers too. I'll re-disable ad blocker and wait for a fix.

It sounds exactly like the thing I mentioned the other week, although for me it seemed to be representing Virgin.

It's a tab-hijacker and Proboards do get them every so often. We just have to wait for the Support team to get rid of them.
