A bit like this, but in my case, just without the mushrooms to which I am allergic. It is really nice. Cooked with one of these: They are great, or at least my wife swears by them. She has used it to cook anything from a soup to a stew, and she uses it to cook rice and vegetables.

Ooooh that looks yummy Lone Wanderer. I have used slow cookers for decades but what is that great looking bit of kit?

My OH had a pork curry waiting for me after work - had it with chips - naughty!

I've just had six very small baked potatoes with 3 salad sandwiches. I am now having a bottle of wine.

We've been busy so got an M&S chicken dinner out of the freezer - yummy with our own new potatoes. :-)

Ooh is that an electric pressure cooker? I was just salivating over one on Amazon the other day. My Prestige one is showing it's age. I'm just about to trawl through a couple of cookbooks for inspiration, but will probably end up making chicken with Thai basil from the Hairy Bikers asian book.

It is a Russell Hobbs 21850 MultiCooker (5 litre)* * Other such cookers are available. My wife just loves it. I bought it after her rice cooker broke. It was not much more expensive, and she uses it a lot. It can do lots of things, and she doesn't have to keep her eye on it, too much, giving her more time for other things.

Ooh ... I like the look of the multi-cooker. I used to have a pressure cooker as my mum used to use hers all the time. I didn't really get on with it and as it took quite a lot of storage room I got rid of it.

I have multi cooker envy. I've looked on line & it doesn't look like there is a smaller version sadly.

There are one or two differences, but my wife says that they are not major differences. With the one we have now, we don't have to pre-cook meat separately, with the smaller ones you do; for example if you are making a pork casserole using the one that I showed you, you have to pre-fry the pork until it is browned, before putting it in the slow cooker. With the bigger ones, you can actually prepare the meat in the cooker. That is the big difference.
