Ha ha! Lots of fun there! YA when I was a yoof was The Famous Five and their ilk But I have read all the Harry Potters, The Hunger Games and Twilight.

I'm with you on The Famous Five when I was a yoof too, lol. I've caught up on quite a few YA novels now (including the ones you mention). You should try Cinder & subsequent books by Marissa Meyer. Each one gives a new take on a fairy tale. I loved Cress the best (but I've yet to read Winter).

I get so many lists of bargain books for my e reader and now give up even scanning the authors as I have never seen one I recognise so the above may be the reason !

Are they saying that 90% of selfpublished YA is crap? No mention of self-publishing. They seem to be citing Sturgeon's Law: 90% of anything is crap. But after all this time they are still having trouble defining YA!
