Annika will premiere on UKTV’s Alibi channel on Tuesday August 17th at 9pm.
Annika follows the sharp, witty and enigmatic DI Annika Strandhed, as she heads up a new specialist Marine Homicide Unit tasked with investigating the unexplained, brutal, and seemingly unfathomable murders that wash up in the waterways of Scotland.
Throughout the series, Annika makes the audience her confidante by breaking the fourth wall and sharing her wry observations on the case and her life, as she manages her brilliant yet unconventional team, and her equally brilliant yet complex teenage daughter.
The drama series, which is an adaptation of the BBC Radio 4 drama, stars Nicola Walker (Unforgotten), Jamie Sives (Guilt), Katie Leung (The Nest), Ukweli Roach (Blindspot), Kate Dickie (The Cry) and Silvie Furneaux (Limbo).

I just watched episode one and liked it. Standard detective drama, but for once Nicola Walker gets to do humour. Very well written dialogue, and I like the comments to camera. But there was one thing I didn’t understand, which I’ll put as a spoiler: {SPOILER:Click to Show}Arthur was the supposed victim at the beginning. Except then it turned out the body was actually Robert Sutherland.
So where was Arthur at the end?

I really want to see this, but don’t have Alibi. Some of it was filmed up my way in Largs

Ref your spoiler - {SPOILER:Click to Show} Arthur was fleeing on Danny's little sail boat, which was "half way to bloody Norway" when they apprehended the Ocean Watch on which Danny and mother were trying to catch up with him and join him.

I like the way she has little chats to the camera.

I'd like to see it too but don't have access. It will probably come to Drama or something else eventually. It's had poor reviews but that may be because of its quirkiness which won't be to everyone's taste.

Enjoyed this and even my husband who doesn’t normally like anything with Nicola Walker in, thought it was good and also said it was nice to see her in something where she can show she has a sense of humour!

The last episode dropped yesterday, and I found it entertaining right through. I really like the characters (especially Annika), but I do think they need to work on the plotting and writing.
