Wow! That's a big drop. I wonder if they will bother completing the series.

I understand that they have filmed a Christmas special which doubtless they hoped to build their schedule around. It may end up being shown between the festivities instead if the ratings continue to fall.

I do hope don't fall permanently. I'm enjoying it.

I was about to give up on it after last week, but I enjoyed episode 3 more and am warming to the series.
Though, switching to nit-picking mode - while they seem to have been careful to get the cars and farm equipment right for the 1950s, there were quite a few anachronisms. E.g.- that TV aerial was like nothing you'd ever see in the 50s, there would have been no talk of seat belts because virtually no cars here would have had any yet, and Lady Chatterley's Lover was still banned in the UK. Also there was a price in a shop shown as £15.00 - i.e. decimal, more than a decade before we introducted decimal currency (actually this one seems quite a common fault - I think most programme makers now are too young to know anything about pounds, shillings and pence).

Ah yes, decimal currency. I can just remember pounds shillings and pence, but I was only 11. I hadn’t spotted that one I must admit!

Just because they don't remember pre-decimal currency doesn't mean they shouldn't do their research. Sloppy and lazy. They'll be making pirate films with treasure chests full of modern banknotes next, because they don't remember gold doubloons.

I have to grudgingly admit I quite liked it by the end. I got to follow the spirit of it rather than getting het up over how unrealistic everything was. I'd probably watch another series, if there is one.

I didn’t watch the final episode, seeing as I hadn’t paid much attention to episode 5, and I realised I wasn’t bothered

Not surprised really, none of it made much sense… where did they get so much money is only one of the questions
