I can barely understand a word the female detective says unless I have the subtitles on. She and the lead both blurt out a few words in spurts, a speech pattern which I find quite irritating.

I love the Vera series . I think I’ve read most of the books. There are more tv series than there are books. A lot of the tv series are ‘based on the character ‘
I couldn’t get away with either the books or the tv series of Shetland . Don’t know why!
I’ve read the first two books in the Venn series - from my local library- and liked them both, the second one is better than the first. I’m liking the tv series of the first book though.

Overall, I liked it. It had interesting characters and I can see potential. But it did give new emphasis to the description “slow burner”.
Loved the house!

I only just stayed with this series, but thought the final episode was better.
