The Tower will premiere on ITV on Monday November 8th at 9pm.
The Tower opens with a veteran beat cop and a teenage girl falling to their deaths from a tower block in south-east London. Left alive on the roof are a five-year-old boy and rookie police officer Lizzie Adama. Within hours, Lizzie has disappeared, and Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins is charged with leading the investigation.
She not only has to track down Lizzie before she comes to serious harm, but also to uncover the truth behind the grisly deaths.
The drama series, which is based on Kate London’s novel Post Mortem, stars Gemma Whelan, Emmett J. Scanlan, Tahirah Sharif, Jimmy Akingbola, Nick Holder and Lola Elsokari.

I am giving this a go but yet again there is some mumbling and a few rushed lines that's putting me off. Will see how episode one ends to decide if we stick with it.

Underwhelming. Mumbling aside I found the two Detectives totally unconvincing.

I haven't started to watch yet, and in view of above comments I won't be in any hurry to.

At least it's only a 3-parter and the ads can be fast-forwarded (if you've recorded it)! 😀

Totally agree about the mumbling and gabbling and about the characters not being convincing, especially the female DS. I've got it set for series-record but I haven't made up my mind yet whether I'll bother with the remaining two episodes.

Minority view alert, I rather enjoyed it! I did think the DS was a bit flat and the DI a bit obviously suss, but otherwise it was quite good imho. However, I don’t think this orange anorak is going to have the same appeal as Keeping Faith’s yellow and blue numbers. I wasn’t affected by any mumbling as I used the subtitles, which was just as well as I had two losses of sound in my recording.

I've watched ep 1 and quite enjoyed it as well, so a minority of 2. I had no problem with mumbling (and no loss of sound) - I was watching via satellite, I don't know whether that makes a difference. Also had subs on, as always these days, which perhaps makes me less observant of sound quality.
My biggest gripe was the use of acronyms - there were at least 3 that I have no idea as to the meaning, and one or two more I could just about guess.

I thought Sinead Keenan was in this? I'm watching the second one and haven't seen her yet.

I'm about to watch the third one and, TBH, I've enjoyed it. I do agree about the mumbling, especially the Irish DI. He barely opens his lips. But it's become a good drama. The actress playing the young copper, Lizzie, is very good.
And the best part about it is the nuances around the subject of racism and the balance of power between men and women in the police force. I wouldn't mind reading the novel of this.

That was a good ending! Some of you are going to hate it but for me it worked.
