Arggghhhhh! I've mixed up the shows, haven't I? I had this problem with the big bag of cash in Guilt and Outlaws.

That was a good ending! Some of you are going to hate it but for me it worked. I've watched the end now and have mixed feelings about it. Perhaps that's the point - in the cases of all the major characters it seems to invite you to consider what you would have done in their situation, and the answers aren't obvious. So in that respect, yes, a good ending.

That's what I thought. It was more realistic to me. In that situation, it's the lesser of two evils.

Based on the comments here I decided to watch my recording of the second episode and thought it was an improvement on the first one so will now certainly watch it to the end - not tonight though as it clashes with Shetland.

I watched it all too - sorry, should've added my tupp'nyworth at the time. I thought it was very good indeed - yes a couple of the senior officers were iffy from the start, but that was possibly more because of close-up camerawork and script directions making it so rather being in the original book. A perfectly believable ending albeit annoying because I do actually believe it happens. Won't say any more for fear of giving away too much but will be interested to hear what others say.

I enjoyed it, thought it was well done and the moral ambiguities were laid out very well.

Why did the police inspectors wife keep the phone

Probably for security. She knows that he's a hound so now she's got something on him. It was also a bloody cheek to expect her to cover for him with no warning

I thought possibly stronger than that - she's actively planning to use it to get the husband put away, in revenge for his affair with the DC!

I've caught up with the final episode now. It was a good, thought provoking storyline: I must look out for the original book. I do still think that the part of Sarah was miscast and that the actor playing the DI was awful: always speaking in a sort of hoarse whisper through clenched teeth. I didn't find either of them very believable but the rest of the cast was excellent.

I looked up the books on a marvellous site called Fantastic Fiction. There are three but the Adama character is called Lizzie Griffiths. I noticed from the blurb about the third that DI Kieron Shaw reappears.
The more I think about this series the more I like it. It was a big change from the usual violation of young women, and quietly went about its business - concerned with proper behaviour rather than the killing methods of a psychopath.

So there could be more series to come then? I did think that the way it ended maybe pointed in that direction. It's odd how people see things differently. Speaking about this programme this morning with a friend who's take on things is normally pretty much like mine, she said she was excited by the first episode, not sure about the second and totally underwhelmed by the end of the third ..... whereas it was exactly the other way round for me!

Anybody else watching this?
I was halfhearted about it, having been a bit underwhelmed by the end of the first series, but I’m gripped by this one.
