Well, I quite liked it, and intend to watch the next series (voice-over after the finale confirmed a second series for next year).

Watched this mainly because I like Adrian Lesterso was disappointed he got blown up in the first episode.Thought the Vicky McLure character was unbelievable and unlikeable. Would probably watch a second series until the Vicky McLure character annoys me too much!

Well they re showed series 1 this week prior to series 2 starting on ITV this Sunday. I’ve just finished it and enjoyed it this time round, so I don’t know why I took against it last time. Maybe it was shown amidst loads of similar stuff, but on its own this time round it stood up well.

I’ve started watching the second series, think I’ve binge watched up to episode 3, still don’t like Vicki McLure, but can’t help wondering, whenever she goes to diffuse a bomb or whatever, why does she take her safety helmet off? Surely she should keep it on?

I read an interview with her which she addressed this very question. She explained that she shadowed a real bomb disposal person for a while before starting in her role and she said they often do so because the helmet can get in the way while viewing the device. And also, she said that if the worst did actually happen and the bomb were to go off, the helmet wouldn’t save you. I noticed she did actually explain this in the very first episode (which I’ve only just seen!) but it was very fleeting.

The helmets are for those further away who can be hit by debris. If you are next to the bomb, your helmet becomes shrapnel.

Anyone still watching? I spotted the Sun’s TV critic had called it the best comedy on TV! Well last night Lana has to deal with a particularly massive bomb in the outside, temporary staff toilets at a society wedding. This is the home of a repellent fat cat and is like a mahoosive red brick country mansion. Panic stations, clear the house, it would be destroyed by the blast. So our brave Lana hitches the loos up to a vintage land rover and drives to within ten seconds of the explosion, She leaps out, runs back past the bomb, to get away and is brought down, emerging without a scratch. So if it couldn’t kill one Expo, I can’t see it bringing down a building. After thanking her, the repellent fat cat then has a pop at her for destroying his Land Rover, which I thought was a bit of rather obvious stereotyping!!!!
Most of the bombs this week were in those rentable scooters which were exploding all over the place. I wonder if rentals were lower today?
TBH this should have a wider location than London. If it were like this show, we would be diving for cover nearly every time we ventured out!

Yes, still watching, in wonderment at how easily she managed to get into the floor of the portaloo, the screws undid so smoothly! And how she wasn’t injured when leaping from the Land Rover with seconds to spare from the big explosion. But still enjoying it.

Also, last week, when she ran into the building where the cabinet minister was at that meeting, with Oliver, his laptop and the hidden bomb, I thought Lana stopped running to do her falling over stunt before the actual blast. Only by a second but it still looked a bit odd.

Loved her meltdown in front of the git of a Commander!😂
Amazing Lana couldn’t defuse a confetti canon though. I assume Alex was duped into believing it was a bomb so he would lead them to his contact given that they now suspected him. Otherwise what, the confetti explodes at the BritishMuseum? There’s always a jump in your seat moment in this though, like when the fat cat’s phone exploded!

Only just started watching this and I really like Lana. Although I did think this was written by Jed Mercurio as he loves to kill a famous actor in the second episode

Now on the last one of S1 and enjoyed it. Although DI Desai is as badly acted as Kam in Midsomer.

Vicky McClure's popular crime drama Trigger Point has been renewed for a third season, ITV has announced.
The broadcaster has confirmed the show will return to screens following the success of season two earlier this year, which averaged 8.1m viewers.
Season two has also been streamed over 30m times on ITVX and was the second most-watched drama on ITV1 this year, behind Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
