The Chelsea Detective will receive its UK premiere Acorn TV on Monday February 7th.
The Chelsea Detective follows Detective Inspector Max Arnold, who lives on a houseboat on the Thames, in Chelsea, after separating from his art dealer wife Astrid, just yards from some of the most valuable real estate in Europe. The beautiful borough is full of beautiful people, but it has a dark underside of deprivation, violence, greed – and murder.
Bodies have a way of showing up, and things are rarely what they seem, but Max’s determination and acuity mean he’ll find a way to root out the truth and bring those responsible to justice – regardless of their wealth or status.
The four episode drama series stars Adrian Scarborough, Anamaria Marinca, Sonita Henry, Lucy Phelps, Peter Bankolé, Sophie Stone and Frances Barber.

Hmm.... sounds like it could be good but I will wait and see how grim it is first.

Is that a subscription channel?

Acorn TV is a streaming service, £4.99 per month or £49.99 per year. There's some decent stuff on it, see separate thread for it lower down "Subscription Channels".

This is pretty good! Interesting story, well acted and not at all grim. Nice relationship between the two leads. And good to see Adrian Scarborough being the lead after years of non-leading parts in many dramas.

This sounds really good, hopefully if I wait long enough it will rock up on Freeview or sky.

If Acorn keep going the way they are, I expect Sky will buy it at some point! They usually do.

Just watched the first one and really enjoyed it. I like the new DS. They have a good partnership.
