This begins on Tuesday 1st March then each evening until Thursday. I've been looking forward to it since I started seeing adverts for it. Read the book roughly 6 months ago, quite by chance as I accidentally downloaded it onto my kindle (still haven't quite worked out how!) and found it quite gripping. I was very surprised to see it
If this series is anything like the book, then it's well worth investing the four hours it'll take to view.
Written by TM Logan, it tells the story of four families who all go on holiday together in a luxurious villa somewhere hot. The main character believes she is happily married to her husband until she starts to suspect he is having an affair with one of her friends. All this rumbles on in the background of various events which lead one hell of an ending. Exciting escapism with thriller thrown in!

Yes I read this some months back. It was quite a successful book I think and I enjoyed it. I got it as a lockdown read. I shall still watch the show, although for once I do remember the plot.

Jill Halfpenny is the main 'friend' who I never had down as a geordie, but I can go with it as she's a great actor.

What a miserable charmless bunch of individuals And another drama where you’re supposed to be able to read what someone has texted or received and can’t because it’s too small…. I don’t care what happens to any of them frankly, so I won’t be sorry to miss it tonight and therefore the final two episodes, because I will be watching Liverpool in the FA Cup instead

Yes they are aren’t they? I didn’t like them in the book much, though! I thought it went well and remembered it from the book, although I think it is supposed to be in the South of France. The show didn’t delineate the family groups as clearly as the book did and it took me a while to sort out the other couples and their offspring. TWICE I had to freeze frame and walk over to the TV to read the stupid phone. Then I decided not to bother.

Blimey they really are an unlikeable lot aren't they. Shall watch it to the end though.

I watched the first episode, struggled like others to read the texts on the screen and couldn’t really warm to anyone. But I thought I would watch the second episode, then last night I fell asleep in front of the telly after a long day and completely missed it. So I have decided I can’t be bothered to catch up after reading others comments.

Agree about them all being unlikeable. Apart from anything else they all annoy me intensely by spending all their time on their phones. They are either sending texts, reading texts, listening to voicemails, talking on their phone or spying on someone else's phone (don't these people protect access to their phone with a PIN? I suppose it would limit the use of mobiles as a plot device if they did!). It never stops!

I hate it when they are all checking their texts on mobile phones…mainly because I can never read then they are so tiny

According to the TV pages in the ‘i’, tonight’s 4th and last episode focuses on Kate finally asking Sean what is going on She would have done us all a favour had she done that on Tuesday

Jill Halfpenny is the main 'friend' who I never had down as a geordie, but I can go with it as she's a great actor. I thought she was a geordie, but most probably wrong. I haven’t finished it yet but based on the book, things which seem wrong to me are.. The villa is nowhere near posh enough. I mean it’s a lovely place but a bit rustic whereas set in France I got the impression it was supposed to be blingtastic. The ravine was emphasised quite a lot in the book but no one seemed surprised there was an unbarricaded pit at the bottom of the garden! Jake is, I think, miscast. He just comes across as a bolshy teenager whereas he is written as being much more devious and potentially nasty, and his mother/smother was even worse in the book so that relationship hasn’t been played up as much as Kate and Sean’s.

Actually, I thought Jill is a geordie, and when I said that, I meant that I didn't think of the character as being a geordie!
The series also didn't portray Jake's slightly younger brother which was the reason in the book as why Jake was so bolshy (being the big man) to wind up his brother (as well as course, what we all find out in the last episode.
