When I went out in the late morning South Africa were just about at the end of their innings. Got home about 5.00 and was a bit puzzled that the radio commentary appeared to be a Hundred match.. I assumed there’d been freak rain at Lords But there hadn’t, had there  |

I remember, in the not totally out of sight past, moaning that too many of the Test matches were drawn. And when there was a win it was really unusual for a result in 3 days But now….  …. we might be about to see two in succession |

So that’s it… 2022 cricket season over
My team finished runners-up in the One Day Cup and the County Championship, near but just missed out
Ashes next year I think??

England hit 500+ in a day, with 4 centuries, did I dream it? Hope if so I continue the dream in the early hours tomorrow! Pakistan have waited a long time for an England Test team to visit again, but don’t suppose they envisaged this.

Go Jimmy!! It’s matches like this which show, (me at least!), that Test cricket is the best, but anyone who had only seen the short forms would probably have given up on Day 1 or 2 and missed the exciting finale  |
