Being a Kentish man or Man of Kent(a Medway thing I believe) I always used to follow Kent though not recently. Lets hope it doesn't bring the rain with it. As the old adage goes " When there's a drought get a cricket bat out. "

So who will take over from Root? Only obvious candidate seems to be Ben Stokes , but is he fit enough?

Lots of discussion about possible successors, but not much enthusiasm about anyone other than Stokes Could he cope with the strain? Reminds me of when everyone was convinced the captaincy couldn’t go to anyone but Botham. That didn’t end well  |

We get so little cricket live on the BBC these days that I went shopping early in order to watch the whole match ie second T20 between England and India The first in the series on Thursday was grim, but this has been beyond embarrassing At least I avoided being out when it got too hot… |

They have to stop believing their own publicity - attitude from the management as well as the media tended to the view that as Root, Stokes, and Bairstow would be in the team, India should be ready for a thrashing…. The three of them were out for 0 EDIT: Apologies to Bairstow, he made it to 7. But there were 4 ducks |
