A very timely drama about a Tory minister who first has his affair with a researcher splashed across the press and is then accused of rape. I’m two episodes in and enjoying it.
There is quite a curious aspect to the production with camera tricks and effects used to illustrate and emphasise characters’ emotions and reactions. It’s a bit weird, but an interesting gimmick.

I was gripped and have now just finished the whole series.
Yes, I found some of the unusual techniques interesting - such as maybe briefly showing a character as they appear today in a 20-years-earlier flashback sequence, or showing 2 interacting characters in a packed courtroom as though they were alone in an empty one.
It ends suggesting a possibility for a second season, although as this was billed as a limited series and based on a "standalone" novel by Sarah Vaughan that seems unlikely. There's another of her novels however that might apparently be adapted for TV.

I don’t have Netflix but have read the book which I thought was good.

In the end, I binged. Which is not like me at all, but I just had to know what happened next. Really well done. And while I wouldn’t like to see the special effects in every drama, they worked brilliantly here.
