ITV’s new eight episode thriller series Paranoid will premiere on Thursday September 22nd at 9pm.
It tells the story of a female GP who is murdered in a rural children’s playground with an abundance of eyewitnesses.
A group of detectives embark on what seems to be a straightforward murder investigation, but as they delve deeper into the case they are quickly drawn into the twists and turns of an ever-darkening mystery, which takes them unexpectedly across Europe.

This seems very good with great characters...the only one I don't like is the female cop. Very irritating. It seems like they all have some form of hang up though. Can't wait to see how it pans out.

Writers must be struggling to find some new affliction for cops. There doesn't seem to be one who does his job, fills in his paperwork, and goes home to watch telly with his wife. This time it's anxiety attacks for one, broken heart for another, and the young one yet to be diagnosed. He's probably the killer.
Enjoyed it on the whole, but agree about the female cop. Don't think an officer would be so dogmatic to a colleague. Also, thought why on earth would the German cop go to a house at night on her own, then jump over walls to get access to it? Think she might have waited until the morning and taken a colleague.

Exactly my thought, Maxibaby, on the German cop. I shouted Backup at the TV! And no hesitation about jumping over the wall and wandering about in the dark! I was fully expecting her to get shot or similar.
I thought it was OK, with a positive for Lesley Sharp being in it and a BIG negative for the stroppy female cop.

I don't think I'll stick with this. Lesley Sharp is the same in everything I've seen her in and the young female cop is highly irritating. I wasn't grabbed at all.

This got a very good review in today's Observer and apparently it gets much better.

I enjoyed it, but I like quirky drama. I enjoyed the BBC's River, where the main cop imagined himself having conversations with murder victims. The main character in this one suffering from panic attacks is just my cup of tea. Indira Varma, who plays the female cop, is rather typecast, I fear. She always seems to play rather stroppy, unlikeable characters.
I also was shouting at the telly when the German cop went to the house in the dark. I was yelling "You've got four sons, you moron and you're gonna get murdered!". This has totally grabbed me, and I'm dying to find out who the ghost detective is. Because of the lengthy discourse on schizophrenia, I'm wondering if one of the investigating team will turn out to be schizophrenic and also the ghost detective (split mind). I'm also very suspicious of Lesley Sharp's character, who seems too sweet to be true. Roll on episode 2.

Still watching but too many subplots . Cant remember how the dead suspects brother got the eye injury and Alec and his mother are they both liars?

Yes, I agree and for me Nina is such an unpleasant character, I cannot give a damn about her love life and it is taking far too much air time. I was also sitting there wondering about the brother's plaster, in fact I could barely recall last week's events so thank goodness for the little snippets up front.
Pleased to see the marvellous Polly Walker though.

I feel sorry for Alec having the mother he does. Not very loyal is she.

I'm still enjoying this. Robert Glenister is doing a great job, I think, of playing a panic attack victim. I'm now wondering about Alec, since he's got such a weird mother. If she's been like that his entire life, it must have had an effect. Remember Norman Bates! Haven't got a clue who the ghost detective is.

I am glad I didn't give up on this. It is getting better by the week. Still more questions than answers though. Glad Alec was ok.
