Anyone watching this creepy little tale. From a book by John Wyndham who also wrote The Day Of The Triffids.
Great viewing.

I remember reading the book when I was at school. I had all of his books. For those of you who might not know, this has been filmed twice as Village of the Damned. I'll probably give it a go.

I saw the 1960 film when it was new. Of course I can't remember much about that - except for the golden-eyed children, controlling by staring in unison.
I have started to watch the series and to be honest I'm not that keen on it so far - finding it a bit too low key and flat with not very convincing performances. Perhaps it'll get better.

I watched this last night. It was very good indeed. Read the book, and saw the film as a child and it was creepy then. Still is.

I watched the first episode, and have to say that I didn't see any of the 'wokeness' that worried some critics who were insisting that it betrayed the book (female lead, and multiracial children); all I saw was the story, which was well put forward. I'll be watching the rest as soon as I can.

There was a sort of sequel, (apparently NOT a sequel, with a totally different message and nothing to do with author) which incorporated a variety of ethnic children. But the whole idea was similar. I think, as opposed to Village of the Damed, it was called Children of the Damned. And it was a tv series.

Oddly, I was reminded of a tv series I saw in the late 70s called Children of the Stones. I looked it up - it is described on IMBD as The Midwich Cuckoos meets The Wicker Man!

So, half way through, and I'm still liking it. There are many differences from the book and the film, but for the most part, I don't think it matters.

One of my favourite actresses is Keeley Hawes, I don’t think I have ever seen her in anything rubbish….so I knew when this came on it was going to be good.

Apparently it's a bit of a 'thing'. There's a society and everything
