For all lovers of Bill Nighy's laconic tones, this is him playing the main part. He's a mostly unemployed middle-aged actor and amateur detective. It's very funny and well-acted by everyone. And his co-star sounds remarkably like Dawn French.

I’ve got a date with Bill Nighy on Thursday. Apart from watching Queen Elizabeth’s funeral yesterday, I’ve had a busy week. I’m setting aside some me time then.

Well, I had a power cut yesterday and there was all sorts of other unexpected stuff going on, so I listened to the four episodes of A Charles Paris Mystery today. Very enjoyable. I hope we get some more of these in the future.
