A dark comedy, and yet another English language remake of a Belgian series, to add to 'The Rising' which was on Sky earlier in the year & 'Professor T' currently running on ITV. I enjoyed the original, titled 'The Out-Laws' (with a hyphen, not to be confused with the BBC series 'The Outlaws'), which was on More4 some years ago and described at the time as "Desperate Housewives on acid".
This version is from Ireland and is very good, as you might expect since Sharon Horgan is behind it. It's streaming one episode per week, 8 of the 10 are available so far. Four sisters (played by Sharon Horgan, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene & Eve Hewson) conspire to kill the vile and controlling husband of a fifth sister (played by Anne-Marie Duff). Each of the four has her own personal reason for wanting him dead, in addition to his treatment of their sibling. The action switches between the recent past, and the present when two brothers are investigating an insurance claim, with plenty of complications in each time frame.
