Now available on I-Player this is just as delightful, funny and heartwarming as our original version. Different spooks of course because of the US setting, but the same range of 'powers' among them and the same bickering. Love hippy Flower who 'wandered onto the property and tried to talk to a bear. There were drugs involved'...

This is actually on nightly Monday to Thursday iirc at 8.30 on BBC3, not just weekly as per the UK version. I’m looking forward to it so I’m glad you rate it positively, Bidie.

Meant to say, I was worried they would not have a headless Humphrey character - but they do.
Motorbike accident I suspect.

Thanks for mentioning it. I've just series-linked it to record on BBC3 (and for others who are going to watch BBC3, a heads-up that it starts tomorrow (Sunday) - I went to Monday's episode to set the series-link and it said it was the 2nd episode, so I wondered what had happened to the first one 😄 - wouldn't want anyone else to miss it).

I’ve watched the first two, interesting to see the changes, some work better than the original, for example Samantha’s accident. But where Thomas’ yearning for Rachel was quite sweet, I don’t like its being the Julian character in that role in this show, a bit creepy

I think it helps show the dating "rules" from the Julian characters time. "Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen."
Flower is a joy - dense as our Kitty - and I love Thor and his fondness for cod.

Watched 2 eps. Alberta (jazz singer) is my favourite character so far.

I'm bringing this and it's very good. The characters are well written and the situations are the same mix of comedy and pathos as the UK one.

Like most US sitcoms the episodes are just 21 minutes long so there is not perhaps the depth we get in the UK version. But it is still very enjoyable.
The cellar ghosts remain as loveable as ever
"leave the light on! Aw...."

There are 18 episodes in the series though.

Have now watched all of them. And enjoyed them in a different way to the UK one. I would say that the characters aren't as deep as ours but it is funny. And thankfully, it's very American. IMO, that's why it works. It's not just a rehash, it's a series in its own right. And better for it.

Like the US version of The Office - they take the basic idea and characters and then build on them to make an American show.

I am not sure what to make of this. I was not impressed by the first couple of episodes, unlike the UK version which I really like. To me, it just felt a little flat, so I am not sure if I will watch any more. Maybe it takes time to get a clear identity of its own.
