Gave his first show a try but was not over impressed. (Was there a reason they did not offer the slot to Gary Davis? He's been great.)
Vernon felt the need to play all the Good Luck messages he got from his celeb pals and to read out various supportive comments.
The music was dire, imo - someone actually contacted him to ask if all he was going to play was 90s dance tracks?
Will dip in and out this week but, unliked Scott Mills whose show in the afternoon is enjoyable, this did not get off to a good start, imo.

My radio has been off for weeks, can’t be bothered with the adverts on greatest hits, not sure I’ll try Vernon as I’m getting used to the silence now.

I’m sticking with GHR and Ken Bruce. I dislike Vernon Kay and detest 90’s dance music, so why would I listen to the Radio 2 mid-morning show? We’ve been told by the BBC that the decade channels on commercial radio are for the old codgers, so as a fully paid up TOG, farewell Radio 2. I’d like to say I wish you well, but I’d be lying

I like Scott Mills afternoon show and would not miss Pick of the Pops on a Saturday afternoon, hosted by the excellent Paul Gammbicini.
I will probably give Vernon a go for the rest of the week, with the option of switching to Ken from 10am onwards.

And don’t forget Jonnie Walker’s Sounds of the Seventies on Sunday afternoons after Elaine Paige.
I can’t get Greatest Hits where I live. The channel has been taken by a local school radio. I can only listen to it online which is no good for the car.
I’m thinking of getting a new car this year actually and if I do, I will make sure it has a digital radio.

I’m still listening to Radio 4 and Radio 4 Xtra. They don’t pontificate about the age group that should be listening to them
