Becca sort of blurted out that she only saw her mum every two weeks; I think her sister asked her something she couldn’t answer. I will rewatch this at some point. I believe that Becca was happy for people to think she went more often than she did. I also feel that “every two weeks” was a generous approximation.

You did need to suspend credulity but then again it did seem as if the father knew much more than he'd said originally. He knew about the diagnosis and he knew she wanted to be buried in the Isle of Man. I think it was more a case of coming back now and again for the sake of keeping up appearances in the end.
Of course phoning your mum is not the same as visiting and if they used mobiles you'd never know where the person was.

I saw my mum and dad every week and mum and I spoke on the phone every day but this was before the days of mobiles so we both had to be where we were supposed to be!

I've just caught up with this now and thoroughly enjoyed the strong writing and performances for the sisters - it felt like an authentic sibling dynamic/relationship. Glad Ros (Eve Best reminds me so much of Jemma Redgrave!) decided to stay, and I hope things progress with the taxi driver for her. It was also nice that the oldest daughter's disability wasn't turned into an issue for the story.

Yes that was a good yet rare touch, as with the son in the Daisy May Cooper show Am I Being Unreasonable where the health issue was never mentioned, just accepted.
