This started on Saturday on BBC1, after Casualty. I really didn’t think I would like it but decided to give it a go, on the basis that I probably couldn’t like it any less than Crime on ITV, 😂.
It is set in the world of rap and is perhaps best described as a Poundland version of Empire set in Sarf London. A young up and coming rap star, Bosco, is the golden child of his family whereas his equally talented sister, Vita, is completely subjugated to his career and needs. She acts as his assistant and is not encouraged in anything. His manager is played by the wonderful Jo Martin (love her!). Anyhoo, the ensuing story will I’m sure develop into a battle between the two siblings. But however mundane that sounds, this really did have a spring in its step. I did need the subtitles (but then I did for Crime where the sound seemed poor to me), because I’m not au fait with rap lyrics, street slang or Jamaican patois, but I enjoyed it.
