This started last Friday on ITV1. Did anyone watch? I think it is a total hoot. It’s like a Poundland Succession/Black Dynasty. I think it will prove to be hysterical.
Hugh Quashie plays the father who dies in the first ten minutes. His estranged children from his first wife live successful lives in NYC. The second wife and her three children of course live indolent lives financed by Daddy, who is the founder of a Black Haircare company called Flair and Glory (honestly, what’s not to love?) which was really the brainchild of his first wife… but she got NOTHING! Obviously the playboy son from the second marriage expects to inherit the company, but he wills it to the first two siblings. What amused me was how the second children called the first children greedy, gold-digging strangers…. But they have as much right to a share as the second children!!! Because they’re all his kids. Yet no one pointed that out. I hope this doesn’t go off the boil.
Now after the Champion debacle I googled this and it was filmed in London, and NYC apparently. Although when they were outside a NY bar I’ll swear that was shot in Cornhill.
