This was on More+ last night (check that, I may have it wrong).
It was a completely unflashy music quiz. Not sure Ken has much TV presence but it was a good quiz and the contestants were brilliant.
It's on every night I think.

Hi, it was on More4. It’s on every week evening just for this week at 8pm. I think they’re trying it out to see if PopMaster works as a TV quiz show. I love PopMaster (formerly of BBC Radio 2, now on Greatest Hits Radio). They’ve had to add more rounds to make it suitable for TV. It can also be streamed on the Channel 4 app. They’re dropping them one at a time. I have to say, like Beverley, I really enjoyed it. I hope Channel 4 go with it and they do some more. Ken Bruce is fine, in my opinion. I’m too old for flashy and brash! 😉😂

Aww … Ken is more than just fine. He’s the only person who should have the job! (I know I’m biased as a long time Popmaster fan when he was at Radio 2). I love his chatty style. Very friendly and not intimidating at all.
I deem it a successful transition and like others, I hope Channel 4 broadcast it on their main channel in future.
Having said that, I think an hour every weekday is probably too much. Once or twice a week would be fine.

I'm a Radio 4 listener and have never heard Popmaster, but know its reputation so thought I would give this a go. Dear oh dear! Out of the whole hour I knew only three! The Drifters was the original name of the Shadows, Video Killed the Radio Star, and 1967 as the year Silence is Golden came out. I would have been utterly humiliated as a contestant.
Good format though, but I agree an hour is rather long. It's not that common for successful radio shows to make the transition to TV - Just a Minute comes to mind as pretty dreadful on TV- though of course there are notable exceptions such as The News Quiz. So I wish it well.

Don’t feel too dim, Helen. It can be really, really hard! I usually struggle too. Most people are good at one or two eras, not the whole spectrum.
Still enjoy it though (in a University Challenge sort of way!) 🤪

It's really tough on the radio as well!

It is what it says, Pop Master. Master level knowledge. I think the contestants are excellent. Might be nice to see a team version too.

Anyone watching this? I used to listen to this on the radio, and enjoyed it although I wasn’t very good at it. I think the tv version is not too bad, still can’t answer many of the questions, but I think an hour is far too long. If they had fewer contestants each day so that it was shorter, I think it would be better.

There is a thread here somewhere. I posted on it (but I know things can be tricky to find). I liked it. But while I disagree with it being too long, I do think every day was too often. ((And I’m no good at it either, but it’s still good fun, but I can’t get the new radio station where I live so do miss my daily dose!)

I'm watching the final and love the way they are all grooving along to Green Onions.
