Has anyone watched the crime series Suspects? It starred Faye Ripley, Damien Molony and Claire-Hope Ashitey and was mostly unscripted but the actors had clear guidelines regarding the story lines.
I think there is a new series in the pipeline.

I only ever watched the first episode of this and I couldn't get into it.

I really enjoyed it! Quite a surprising debut into home made drama for 5 I thought. I would deffo watch a new series.

The new series starts on Wednesday 3 August at 10.00.
Series 5! I am amazed, but then they have always been very short. This is six episodes. The trailer reveals rather a large plot surprise, as does RT.

I thought I'd give this another go, thinking the new cast might inject some freshness. It looks as if they have a bit more lighting budget than before as the scenes no longer look as if they've been filmed through a green filter. I gave up half-way through, more through tiredness than boredom, but am not sure I'll go back and watch the rest. The improvised dialogue really highlights the need for a good script, IMO.
I wonder if they were cross with Fay Ripley for leaving the show? No chance of a return for her!
Nice to see you here, GM!

I watched this morning. What a twist at the end. Hope Jack is OK!

I did read the suggestion somewhere that they were fed up about her unavailability. I wonder if NuCold Feet will be a success though? Retreads can be dodgy.

I am just doing my post-Rio catchup on this and am heartily sick of how they have written/developed Jack this series. He is like an out of control 10 year old. Do not go to the club. He goes to the club. Do not speak to Lucy. He speaks to Lucy. You're off the case. He pops up at the station to work the case. And on and on!

I was going to ask about that. This is the first time I've seen this and I wondered if he'd always been as much of a Short Richard as he is in this.
The dialogue is a bit weird as well. They often talk like they barely know each other and have to be really careful what they say. It can be very very stilted.

Don't forget it is all improvised on a strict script. You are right about Jack but he always had a short fuse. I really enjoy this programme but then I am a massive Damien Molony fan anyway.
