Anyone catch this? It is the Friday night replacement for Riches and if the critics thought that was bad, I dread to think how they rate this. It stars Ioann Gruffudd as author Thomas who returns after 25years to a school reunion in Antibes. Obviously someone knows what they did that summer… or winter, whenever. 😀. A girl in his year went missing, after showing our young Thomas a positive pregnancy test and claiming she was raped by her teacher, and there was a murder where the corpse was buried in the about to be knocked down gymnasium.
A major plus of this series is that it also stars the gorgeous Gregory Fitoussi, ❤️. A minus is that Ioann’s parents are played by Dervla Kirwan and Rupert Graves, who are probably a very similar age to him. I mean, seriously??? It is based on a huge bestseller in France by Guillaume Musso.I suspect he may be their answer to Harlan Corben.

I originally put this on my watch list when the RT pointed out it was available as an ITVX box set. But now, after returning from a holiday and facing a huge catching-up exercise, I've crossed it off again.

I watched eps 1 &2. Enjoyed it, although not sure quite those-that-be decided to put on 2 episodes back to back and put off the news until 11pm. Still, I guess we’ll keep watching!

Just finished episode 2 and I’m enjoying it, but dislike nearly everyone in it. Thomas is quite toxic and entitled imho. I was down to the cop and the doctor as decent characters… up until the last two minutes of the episode, now I’m done to the cop! Obviously Gregory Fitoussi is excused from all blame.

It’s been mentioned on some of the paper reviews but Thomas’s parents don’t look old enough to have a 42 year old as a son. Apart from that, I caught up on the first 2 episodes last night and am enjoying it.

Just looked it up, Rupert Graves is only 10 years older than Ioan Gruffud, and Dervla Kirwan is only 2 years older than him!

If they can afford age appropriate actors for the principals, why not for the parents? It’s ridiculous, only 2 years older. And more to the point she only looks two years older as well! They haven’t exactly aged her up successfully have they? If I were 50 say I’d be pissed off if asked to play a 48 year old’s mother.

Well I finished off watching it. The most odd thing I thought all the way through is this -Thomas’s (Ioan Gruffud) parents work at the school, and they live in the vicinity of the school, as expected. So Thomas is sent away, from his parents for 25 years and only sees them 25 years later (really) The others in the group do not have parents at the school and have all stuck around in the area (again, really?). Just very strange, I can’t believe he spent his entire adult life away from and never seeing his parents.

Just finished it and it was a good watch. However, I loathed nearly everyone in it! Especially Vinca and the ghastly Thomas. He was just flipping toxic! Everyone has to do what he says! Ugh. So the bit at the end when he says perhaps she lived…. I don’t understand why, if she did die, her body wasn’t found in the gym with the poor teacher. And Richard has to go to jail for life just to save stupid horrible Thomas, of course!!!! Was Thomas sent away? Or did he just decide to stay away? Presumably because of the memories of Vinca? His parents had a pretty fabulous place in Antibes for a teacher and a tennis coach! You’d be tempted to go back for a lovely holiday now and again, 😂😂.
