Starting on Wednesday 4th October at 9.00. This stars Morven Christie as a wife of a dodgy accountant who gets dragged into the world of criminal Cal Morris played by Peter Mullan. This struck me in the RT because of the illustration in the article. I honestly thought it was a show starring an Asian actress. Either RT printing went a badly wrong or Morven has gone extremely heavy on the bronzer! Or they muddled her up with another actress in the cast.

I think it's mainly the RT printing. Same picture is in ITV press centre but with somewhat paler colours. I wouldn't have known that was Morven Christie though!

A friend and I were only saying a few weeks ago that we never seem to see Morven Christie on TV these days and were wondering where she had gone. She seems to have been doing work for Netflix according to an internet search. She is one of my favourite actresses so I will be watching this.

Morven Christie is in the 2021 film 'The Road Dance' which was on BBC2 earlier this year (and is still on iPlayer).

Morven Christie proving again what a good actress she is.

Yes, good start.
I reckon there's more to the au pair girl than meets the eye. And I could find out I suppose, because the whole series is on ITVX and bingeable...

I thought so too, I imagine those camera shots taken looking downstairs to Lexi while she was looking for the safe signified that she was being watched. Morven Christie beautifully portrayed Lexi's bewilderment and fear of Cal and the situation she was thrown into. As she is a partner in the firm, presumably she's also an accountant and will get to the financial nitty gritty of this.
Bit odd that her daughter had an English accent, if she's spent all her life in Edinburgh. I also wondered what her reaction on hearing her father was dead meant - it certainly startled her mother!

I think it just meant she is too young to have understood what she had just been told.
I am suspicious of the detective played by Derek Riddell too. He seemed overly keen to have a reason to drop the investigation by the forensic financial guy. Is he a bent copper?

{Question}Who was the woman in the passport she found? Was it her? I'm hopeless with faces at the best of times.

I'm suspicious of any character played by Derek Riddell! He always seems to play a baddy these days.

He was one of the good guys in Happy Valley, a bit weak but then compared to Catherine everyone is!

Surely the crime boss should have hired a hacker or bent accounts whizz to sort this out? I mean it’s all very well telling someone they have to unravel it all and find the money, but it’s an enormous amount of work and for all he knows Lexi is a rubbish accountant! I can’t believe she is ploughing through all the paperwork on her own.
