This was great!
The one from Silent Witness (Emilia Fox) with the one from Waking The Dead (Tara Fitzgerald) doing in Italy a slightly upmarket Madame Le Blanc - also a bit like that one with Roger Allam as a judge in the south of France.
Apparently it premiered as an Acorn Original last year. 3 x 90min stories and a new season has been commissioned.
Emilia (even keeping her own name in Italian in the title) is everything Nikki should be in Silent Witness - without the angst! Taking on the local mafia, she shoots and does martial arts like Emma Peel and drives a Fiat 500 like she was in the Italian Job. She's a spy by profession but I was waiting for her to offer the local police a hand with the autopsy.
Her neice is played by Mark Knopfler's daughter. (You can tell it's her because she occasionally says 'why-aye, man' instead of 'yes' in conversation. )
Why cant the Beeb come up with one of these for a Sunday nights for a change - instead of the unremitting misery they've been scheduling for months now?!

It is quite daft, isn't it? But a fun watch in gorgeous sunshine and scenery.

Oh, a new thread… where was I writing before then? Maybe in Acorn or whatevs. Anyhoo, yes I too enjoyed it. I am sorry there are only three episodes. Like Mrs Sidhu, I could do with these becoming as regular as Midsomer.

That would be good! Especially as Midsomer seem to be dying off.

We watched the first episode on UK TV Play yesterday. It was enjoyable and the scenery was gorgeous. Not enough Jamie Bamber though!
