I can't find the thread I thought existed for this programme so have started this one - hope that's OK.
Is anyone else feeling a bit unsettled and disappointed by the tone being set in this latest series? They have brought Cathy back but seem to have given the character a really nasty, spiteful edge that wasn't quite there before. She was always a self-centred bit of an embarrassment but now she is just plain horrible. I'm sorry the character of Anne Marie has been dropped and the way Colin dumped her at Cathy's behest in episode one was terrible. I was actually in two minds as to whether to watch episode two. That started off with a funny story line....and then Cathy appeared and it all went downhill again. I have a close friend who is feeling the same as me and just wonder if anyone here does too.

Absolutely agree. I've always enjoyed the show (in spite of Cathy to be honest) and liked Anne-Marie. But for some reason this series is not very funny. The effing is tedious and the humour seems to be gone.

Original thread is here:- "pointsofviewtoo.freeforums.net/thread/3153/doors?page=4 . Search for "two Doors Down" doesn't find it but search for just "Doors" does. "
Ah, that's where I went wrong! Do you need merge this into it?
I did wonder if there were new writers but didn't know one of the original ones had sadly died. It seems to have lost the subtlety that made it so funny before which is a great shame as it made the show unique.

I watched episode 3 on catch up last night. It was just plain smutty and in no way funny. That's me done with Two Doors Down which actually makes me cross. They have managed to ruin something that was unique in its subtle humour. Why? Trust the BBC to get it wrong again.
