Anybody watch this? Apparently shot in a village in Lanarkshire, but must have been in the middle of the summer months. Trying to remember the original story, so I’m not sure what has or hasn’t been changed, but I’m finding it very enjoyable. Definitely not Phelpsed!

It is pretty much following the original Christie plot. And the changes they have made have been woven in quite well, I think. I liked it.
The main changes are Lord Whitfield being a profiteer and factory owner rather than a newspaper magnate. And Humbleby being a vicar married to an Indian woman rather than a doctor whose practice was joined by Dr Thomas. The latter is the biggest change of character. If they have stuck with the same murderer, the clues are being nicely laid.
The addition of the working class viewpoint adds an extra layer as well. Christie didn't know any apart from maids and gardeners so her lower class characters tended to be a little flat. So it's good to see them fleshed out and the darker side of being the rural poor bought through.
And the MC looks very good in a suit which please me muchly.

It was really good! Only one thing I didn't like but I'll wait till everyone's watched it.

It has been shot in high colour definition to give it a 50s feel.
First episode in and so far not convinced the lead actor is doing a great job. That's always the way with ensemble casts though.
I will wait to see if he manages better tonight.

An enjoyable first half, but it'll really perk up when Sister Boniface arrives!

Did anyone else think the lead actor had a swollen left eye? Or was it just the lighting?
And he should have told that Ngozi woman to keep her comments to herself and mind her own f*****g business.

Like an insect had stung the lower lid I thought.
I don’t like the actress playing Bridget Conway. And I remember an earlier Marpleised version with Shirley Henderson and she was much better than the woman in this one, but she is a favourite of mine so…

I haven't really been following this but it's on at the moment. What on earth does Bridge see in that tw*t she's getting engaged to? Oh, yes, money ...
