That's hard to believe that he's never played in a dome. So many teams have one now.

I meant to ask, Yankee, were you at the Fog Bowl back in the eighties?

Yes! I remember it well. An unseasonably warm winter day here in Chicago and the fog rolled off of lake michigan and enveloped Soldier Field like a Hammer horror film.
I recall the tv announcers were having to rely on reports being radioed up to them from crew down on the field to be able to know what was going on.
Eventually they had to switch solely to a few hand held cameras with lenses zoomed in which made viewing very shaky and almost made you nauseous.
Did you see that game as well???
I think it might have been the last playoff victory of the Coach Ditka era.
And I think it might have been Jim Harbaugh at QB for the Bears.😁

Sorry Miranda I misread your question.
No I was not at the game. Watching on tv.
My dad had season tickets back then but I'm one of six kids. One of my older brothers or sisters were at that game. 😁

Being the youngest in my kin (if you call 55 young lol) the family pecking order usually meant I got the tickets for the pre season friendlies and the late December games in snow and subzero cold.
I often wished the Bears had a dome stadium! Lol
Though seriously speaking I dont like dome stadiums. I find them sterile and with no personality.
I think weather and conditions of the pitch should be a factor in game play.

I agree. Games are often much more fun to watch in a high wind.

Oh gosh how the memory fails.
I double checked on wiki and turns out Harbaugh was on the Bears in 1988 but was third team reserve.
Mike Tomczak played most of the fog ball for the Bears after taking over for a banged up Jim McMahon.
Talk about an embarrassment of riches for Dikta to have McMahon as your #1, T-zac your #2 and Harbaugh your #3.

I remember it raised a lot of eyebrows when the Bears used a 1st round pick to draft Jim Harbaugh. People said why use a first round pick on a QB?! You have McMahon as your #1 and Tomczak is a more than capable #2. The team has other, more pressing positions of need for young new talent.
The truth of the matter was Ditka hated McMahon. Ditka demanded absolute obedience from his players and McMahon was a rebel. Wouldnt toe the line. Changed plays in the huddle that Dikta had called if he thought they didn't make sense for the situation.
Drafting Harbaugh was the first step in chasing McMahon out of town.
Ditka found himself sacked a few years later.
No fault of Harbaugh who we discussed earlier this week had a great career as a player and coach.

I don't know a lot about the back room stuff in the 80s. We used to get one game a week and never saw the draft and of course, with no internet, we didn't get much gossip here. So it's interesting to read it.

The Dolphins aren't losing, and it's 5 minutes into the second quarter.

The Lions are tied with 4 mins to go in the half. Fingers crossed they lose. Then it's just us doing the Vikings.

I'm watching the Chiefs v. Lions game of course rooting for KC. Very tight. Very well played and surprisingly very low scoring!
They just cut in to show Tom Brady throwing a very uncharacteristic interception in the end zone.
New England still winning 13-3 but Buffalo giving the Patriots all they can handle.
Frank Gore for Buffalo just passed 15,000 yards rushing for his career.
That places him 4th place all time behind only Barry Sanders (3) Sweetness Payton (2) and Emmett Smith (1)
