Looks like the media need to learn to back off with some of their questions.

Oh dear. I hope they can help him sort his head out. Is it depression maybe?

Yes.
Imagine the situation reversed.
"Reporter Ron will be out on leave for a time."
"What's wrong with him?"
"He is taking leave time for personal reasons."
"What sort of personal reasons?"
"Personal reasons is a professional way of none of your f-ing business."

Oh dear. I hope they can help him sort his head out. Is it depression maybe? I think that sounds likely given that teammates have said he hasn't been acting like himself.
And good on the team for protecting his privacy and telling him to go take all the time he needs.

Good, I'm glad they've done that. Hopefully he can get himself healthy away from all the press pressure. Thankfully he's not over here. Our press are relentless when they are on the hunt.

Poor Vontaze Burfict. Gruden is playing the victim card and Derek Carr said "He's a great person, his heart is broken because he's not playing football. The guy just wants to play football," claiming that he is misunderstood. I don't like it when people try to defend the indefensible.

If you look at the video I posted a couple weeks back of Dick Butkus - I mentioned how he would not be able to play in today's NFL - because he played so violently.
BUT that was an accepted style of play during his era. He was drafted, became a star and was voted into the Hall of Fame specifically because of how he played - IN HIS ERA.
Burfict plays in an era where that type of play has been legislated out of the league - and has been legislated out of the league since the time he was playing pee wee football as a lad.
Had this particular hit been his first offence the punishment might have been simply a substantial fine (which the teams usually pay on their behalf). Had it been his second or third offence he might have been suspended one or two games.
But he has a rather long list of fines, suspensions, reprimands. And he has not shown any inclination to change his behavior. Thus the league has no choice but to set an example by him. The game evolves, the rules evolve. Players have to evolve.
Sometimes the league evolves its rules in the other direction. Josh Gordon was given a permanent suspension by the league after his umpteenth suspension for testing positive for marijuana.
However, after considering that a number of US states have made recreational marijuana legal, the NFL has to consider how fair it is to suspend a player for smoking marijuana in the privacy of his home, but not punish a player for drinking alcohol when both of which are legal, recreational drugs in some places.
Also, with all of the concerns over debilitating additions to opioids in the US, having a player smoke some week to deal with after-game pain seems a much better option than numbing themselves with opioids.
So the league let Josh Gordon back in the league. Where he plays for the New England Patriots (they do collect these fellas)

Seahawks beat the Rams 30-29 in a very thrilling game last night where the lead went back and forth all game. Seattle were wearing their lime green uniforms that make them look like highlighter pens.

Billed as “Action Green,” the new uniforms come as part of the NFL’s Color Rush series: 2016 NFL Color Rush

But, it's a "color rush", you've got to like it.

At one time the NFL was trying to find something "different" to promote the Thursday night games and one of the things they came up with was teams wearing wild variations of their normal uniforms. And to an extent it still happens - as noted by last nights Seattle highlighter pen kits.
One time they Kansas City Chiefs were playing the New York Jets.
The Chiefs wore their all red kits - red helmet, jersey, pants, shoes. The Jets countered with their all green kits.
The next day the NFL network received thousands of complaints from color blind viewers.
They said they couldn't distinguish which team was which both them both wearing their dark outfits, especially when they were red and green.

Oh of course! Obviously no-one at NFL marketing is colour-blind.
