From what they were saying when he went to the Raiders, I'm surprised that he got this far.
Burfict was a captain? And Gruden really likes to play the victim. But, in answer to Gruden's complaint that the league is picking on Burfict we have this:
Gruden needs to learn to read.

That's bad news but I was expecting it. His arm flopped like a rag doll's when he did it.

Local sports radio are calling it a dislocated shoulder and a slight labrum tear. Assuming it is a multi-week recovery it will be interesting to see if the Bears seek out another veteran QB to bring in as a free agent - or even make a trade.
Bears are 3-1 heading into their game with the Raiders (which they should win).
Then they have a bi week then the schedule gets a bit tough with games against the Saints, Chargers, Eagles, Lions, Rams, Packers, Cowboys and Chiefs lying ahead.
Chase Daniel has 4 career starts in 10 seasons in the league. His back-up Tyler Bray has only 1 pass attempt in 7 years in the league as a career #3. And that one pass attempt was incomplete.
Those choices don't inspire a lot of confidence in a team with the #1 defense in the league and good change to make a strong playoff run.

I had mentioned a few weeks back that the Dolphins are purposely tanking this season so that they can get the #1 pick in the 2020 college draft and choose Tua Tagovailoa. Lets take a quick comparison of Tagovailoa and the Dolphins so far this season. Miami Dolphins: 0-4 Tagovailoa (Alabama Crimson Tide): 5-0 Miami Dolphins 2 Quarterbacks combined: 136 pass attempts 70 completions 785 yards 2 touchdowns 7 interceptions QB rating: 52.5 Tua Tagovailoa: 170 pass attempts 128 completions 1,903 yards 24 touchdowns 1 interception QB rating: 214.7 Yeah I think they can use him. I reckon that the only thing standing in the Dolphins way is that the Jets, Bengals, Broncos, Redskins and Cardinals are all also currently winless. Though those teams are all actually trying and playing hard so will all eventually win a few games.

So, who do you think deserves to get Tua? Or should people be waiting for Trevor Lawrence? I really hate the idea of 'tanking', it shows an utter lack of respect for your current players.
I equally hate what the Arizona front office did, I cannot respect either Bidwell or Kaim, I would not want Kaim to be the sole fall guy. Bidwell has to take responsibility for his part.

Well, other than the Dolphins, there are currently 5 other winless teams
Bengals Broncos Cardinals Jets Redskins
Of those 5, only the Bengals and Broncos are in need of a new QB and would gladly choose Tua #1.
The Cardinals drafted Kyler Murray with the #1 pick in this years draft so they likely wont be looking for a new QB.
Same for the Redskins as they drafted Dwayne Haskins with the #15 pick in this years draft.
And the Jets who drafted Sam Darnold with the #3 pick in 2018.
If the #1 pick fell to any of those 3, they would probably trade it away and then its really up for grabs to the highest bidder in terms of a cocktail of draft picks, players and money.

They had just drafted Josh Rosen, but it didn't stop them going after Kyler Murray. Maybe if they discover that he can't adapt to the NFL, they will go after a new QB and trade Kyler to Miami for whatever draft picks they can get, so that Miami can Tank for Trevor [Lawrence].

Its always possible!
I think with trading away Josh Rosen it was a case of a new broom sweeping clean.
The Cardinals sacked their entire coaching staff and the new head coach Kliff Kingsbury (who was Patrick Mahome's coach in college) brought it this new "Air Raid" type of high powered passing offense and he likely didn't think it suited Josh Rosen's skill set.
Though it is a bit of a head scratcher as to why the Dolphin's made the move to trade for Rosen (it cost them a 2nd and 5th round pick) if they knew they were going to tank for Tua.
Unless their thinking is that QB's are getting injured with such regularity that having a former #10 as back-up for your new #1 is good insurance for the future.

This is troubling news. Bears linebacker Roquan Smith out indefinitely as he deals with "personal issues." When he missed this past Sunday's game the speculation was that perhaps there was a death in his family or something. Now teammates say "he hasn't been acting like himself." I hope the young man can tend to his mental health. That is much more important than what he can do on the pitch. abc7chicago.com/sports/sources-chicago-bears-lb-roquan-smith-not-acting-like-himself/5579298/
