Right, I’ve finished now. They’ve got some bloody good editors on Casualty haven’t they? 😂😂 I didn’t think Rehanna was all that good myself. She was very flat in the first section, sounded more like discussion of a shopping list than an abuse story, but better in the medical bit. I thought it would go to Delasi. Both Dylan’s were awful in the actual shooting, Chris was OK but best in the final shot, Jordan was too slow, both nurses were good imho. But then, realistically, you wouldn’t often go from where they are to a leading role for your first job would you?

I'm glad I didn't have to make this week's choice of best actor/best pair. For me there were two contender pairs and it was impossible for me to choose.

I don’t think any of them, except for Luca, suited Downton Abbey! The others all spoke in a far too modern way for me and I thought Lizzie and Delasi (who won!) were pretty flat. I didn’t think Chris was all that great either, but then it is very difficult to judge because obviously his speech is very particular to him. I was amazed you get an intimacy coordinator for a romantic dance scene in Downton Abbey. When he first came on, I wondered where the scene was going to go, 😂😂. I also shouted at George after his boasting that he and Janice had knocked it out of the park or whatever. The Downton Abbey director and the technical staff were lovely to them, weren’t they?
I am more interested in all this rehearsal process than the actual competition. I think they could all do a competent acting job on TV but not the lead roles they have done here.

There was chemistry between Delassi and Lizzie and also between Chris and Luca although, in their case, I thought it was more evident in their audition. If they had carried that through to the actual scene they would have won hands down I thought. Luca certainly looked the part of Lady Mary but why did none of them attempt the clipped upper class accent of those days? Why weren't they directed not to speak in their natural voices?

I think the choice of accents was deliberate. They are all untrained, wearing unfamiliar clothing, trying to act like they are in love and remember their lines. Putting an accent on top of that would be too much to cope with and affect their acting.
I liked George and Janice, they played it really well. Jordan is still method acting. Luca played it beautifully. She's very good in these close up scenes, I think. Like in the Peaky week with Delasi.
I honestly don't know who I would put through. They all have their strengths. Delasi definitely. But the other two?

I think George and Janice, while acting in their normal voices, did put some inflection into it, as did Luca. Most of the others just had very flat, urban accents for me so it didn’t exactly signal romance or indeed sexual tension/past history/regret/whatever else that Kelly woman was looking for, 😂.

I think the editing didn't help. It missed the tenderness in the moment Lizzie moved into Delasi's arms. Certainly not as good as Casualty last week

Yes, I forgot to say that last night. Definitely not as well edited as the Casualty scenes which were really good despite there being quite a few mistakes that week. The Casualty team should be asking for a pay rise, 😂😂😂.

I didn’t expect Jordan to make the cut because I definitely felt he had plateaued. I also prefer him with nude lipstick, not scarlet.
I wasn’t that struck by the finale because we missed out on all the acting techniques, but they did pretty well, although I wasn’t that bothered about the monologues. Delasi has a role in EE!!!!! And he has a dressing room! I hope it hasn’t already aired because I missed him if it has. Jordan got a role in Waterloo Road… is that a good result? And Rehanna is going to be in a murder mystery series. I hope the RT points them out when they are due to appear. And George has a role in The Bay!!!! That must be the biggest shock.

Halfway through and don't agree with Jordan going through.

Halfway through and don't agree with Jordan going through. Agreed. He was the best in the EE heat (the first one) but then he didn't appear to develop and seemed a bit one dimensional in his delivery and facial expressions. I do think that Luca was serioysly overlooked and under estimated. I thought she was good in every role she was given but somehow she never seemed to attract the attention I thought she deserved.I was glad to learn she's won a place at drama school. In fact, they have all moved up the ladder towards their ambition. It's been an interesting series and I hope there will be more. Acting fascinates me although I could never do it myself.

I fully agree about Luca. She was a good actress but I also thought she showed as much appreciation for and application to a small role as she did to the lead. She also had little ego. Mind you, Jordan did also seem extremely supportive towards the others.
When George said he would like to work in the NE, did anyone else shout”apply to Vera” at the TV?

I agree about Luca. I think it may have been inexperience that kept her back so she, and Chris, will benefit a lot from drama school.
George got a part on the Bay! Don't know if it's a speaking part or him walking past in the background but either way, fair play to him. And lovely to see Lizzie on stage.
They all did well. I also hope there's another series.

I was pleasantly surprised at how many of them got a job out of it so quickly. It's win-win for the show and the productions that are using them in terms of publicity opportunities. I hope they do it again - I wonder if they'd dare try a comedy test of some kind? And the BBC can get a warm feeling from having put some talent into the national acting pool that's not from public or private school stock!

I too would watch another series… but I don’t think they will do one.
