Boy, this brought back some memories!
I left school in 81 so these were my formative years. Remember the riots really well. And the places! Although a fair amount is CGI as many of the blocks of flats are now gone. And the usual shrinkage of distance has happened as Chelmsley Wood is miles away from the Spaghetti Junction. And the music shop is at the Swan shopping centre which is miles away from both!
Loving the music though. And the writing by Steven Knight does a good job of scene setting very quickly. Much the same as in Peaky Blinders.
The Brummie accents aren't bad, I've heard worse. On PB for starters!
. Don't really know about the Coventry accents as I'm not familiar. But what really struck me was Dante looks like Muhammed Ali and Brandon's dad looks like a young Liam Neeson!
I would advise you to put the subtitles on from the start.
