Anyone else watched this?
Filmed in b/w - which has apparently put some viewers off who I suspect believed it would transform to colour like they did in the Wizard of Oz when our anti-hero reaches Italy - it is incredibly atmospheric and well cast, but, imo, at least 2 episodes too long.
Andrew Scott is great as the title character but, unlike Matt Damon in the film who was all charm and jovial nature, someone you would welcome into your social circle, Scott plays the role as someone you would cross the street to avoid - all chilling glances and sinister, flat speech.
Still worth a look though.
Watch out for those ashtrays...
