Looking forward to the England game. I will cheer them on - whilst shuddering at some of the more jingo-istic commentary.

Only watched the first half of Scotland v Germany as well - as the score was Germany 3 Scotland nil, it seemed a done deal to me, and then there was Scotland's Porteous getting sent off - not their night 
This evening, have been too busy posting to observe the game(!) - just dared to look and it's England 1

England should have a higher score at half time, shouldn't they?
Reminds me of the time, years ago, England played Portugal in an opening match. At half time the score was England 2 - Portugal 0.
Des Lynam, for it was he, was pretty much carving ENGERLAND onto the trophy when they returned to the studio. This was it, this was their time, 66 all over again etc. The moustache was fluffed up like an angry cat.
The score at final whistle was England 2 - Portugal 3.
Des was all but pouting at his desk. The moustache was at half mast. I was waiting for him to say "it's no fair!"
More goals please lads for part 2.

As this was the one goal of the whole match, glad I didn't stay up to see the second half through to the bitter end. Gareth Southgate admitted this morning his team had 'struggled'. It's like we can't maintain the pace  |

Belgium didn't look convincing did they and France won but they were lucky.
I see that the red carded Scots player Porteous has now been banned for three games and the Scottish FA have been fined because the fans were throwing things onto the pitch. I think Slovenia have also been fined for this. I hate this, it's so dangerous. I'm not sure what was being thrown because during the games nothing was said, but it must have been sufficient for it to be a problem, not just the odd empty bottle drifting down through the stands.
Porteous was/is a dirty player at Watford and has a reputation for it - why pick him?

The French game was a bit of a blood bath! They are supposedly one of the favourites but they did not look it yesterday.

I paid more attention to the French game and France couldn’t get the ball from Belgium. When France had control they looked good

France were playing Austria. Belgium lost to Slovakia and they deserved to.

Why indeed - though if he's banned for three games, we'll probably not see him again...
Monic, I tend to get more involved when the knockout stages are reached, then I will actually sit and watch a match properly!
