Just spotted this new doc in the RT for next Sunday 3 July at 8.00 on C4. The forgotten emperor is in fact a woman who was rather a nasty piece of work apparently. It may be worth a look, you never know with C4 on the documentary front!

I'll be watching too.I read about her and she was a piece of work.
Of course, the heavy tradition and ritual of the Chinese court made it difficult to be anything other than ruthless.

She is an interesting character. Before she was born astrologers said that the baby would become emperor, so when the baby turned out to be a girl they looked rather foolish!
